Our dirty little facts
John Keating
![]() |
John, one of the founding members, is a certified bon vivant, idiot savant, and perdu enfant. He took his college roommate’s road-weary Yamaha 12 string and a love for John Prine, Gordon Lightfoot, Neil Young, and The Beatles and began his quest for the perfect musical mélange. After his stints in various basement bands with silly names, and sillier members, RNF was hatched (not born – that would be an insult to all other mammals). Ray Sheehan

Ray, the other founding member of RNF, brings a semi-quick wit (said he) and undisciplined energy to the group. He loves all styles of music but grew up with the Liverpool Sound and came of age with acoustic Progressive Rock. A refugee from civil service and happy émigré from the dirty waters of Boston to the wilds of Nova Scotia, he writes, sings, plays fingerstyle guitar, and waxes contemporaneously (to a beautiful shine). He loves nothing more than to recapture his youth through music, unless it’s sipping Guinness or single malt. Rosemary Gano

Rosemary, a recent convert to the cause, is talented, irreverent, and good-looking (especially standing near Ray & John). Her flutework brings a softness to the RNF pop sound, though she also sings and adds rhythmic percussion. Although she seems quiet and shy, it really has less to do with her actual personality, and much, much more to do with playing with two raging extroverts.
